Open House at Ravenwood

My husband, Bruce Kilgore, and I invite you to our Fall Open House at Ravenwood. We built our homestead by means of cordwood construction, a wall-building system in which short logs are laid transversely and supported by an insulated mortar matrix where, with end-grain exposed, they “breathe”, greatly reducing deterioration.

All structures are timber-framed with living roofs. We live off-the-grid with photovoltaic panels and a 1-kWh wind turbine electric systems. You will also see humanure toilets, an earthen oven, tempering
tank, warming bench, plunge pool, chopsaw, and more!
